This Life of Mine

Hello!

Another Thursday; another two hours of early morning music fun!

I had no real theme in mind while compiling this show. I had a mix of some newer tunes, and some 'classics' if I can use that term liberally. A couple from a few years ago and a few from a couple years ago.

Oh, and also, how the bleep is it the end of March?!

I missed seeing Wintersleep last night and they're one of my faves. However, I saw through the powers of social media that it was a great show, so that's wicked. I heard Nap Eyes was also rad, and Sarah Neufeld. Busy Wednesday yesterday, eh?

Speaking of awesome things - it's MEMBERSHIP DRIVE TIMES! That handy link gives tons of info, including a list of locations where you can pick your membership up over the course of the next two weeks. Of course, you can always renew online.

Things are kicking off tomorrow night with couple of great hometown bands at the Capitol!

The perks of being a member are plentiful, like ticket giveaways and random draws, but membership also signifies support for the city's only Community Radio Station. Varied programming, great music. Wonderful, I tells ya!

Okay, talk at ya in a weeks time.

Cheers!

Sing Our Own Song

Hey, hey, happy Thursday!

I had a ton o' fun today. So much cool stuff to share. I played a few good ol' dance-y wake-up tunes, and a perfectly-timed tune by local songstress Jen Lane.

I'm uber-excited about this coming June, because there are wonderful things lined up for MoSo! Buffy Saint-Marie will be performing and speaking. There will be many other fantastic acts, which are linked to below as well, and this is only the first wave of lineup announcements. :)

I also featured some songs from bands hosting upcoming concerts. Lots of good linky-links (sorry, haha).

Good Advice

Hi there!

So, another week in radio fun times. It's also St. Patrick's Day! I played Delhi 2 Dublin, which seemed fitting given their namesake, and a couple east coast acts, because geographically they're the closest Canadian provinces to Ireland. ♣

Waking Up On Time

Heeeeyyyy!

So, yesterday morning was a blast. I had fellow host and CFCR-admirer Miranda join me for the second hour of my show. She was a trainee of mine a few months ago, and has been fillin' in left and right on lots of shows. I have been cajoling her to become a host ever since we were fellow models at a CFCR International Women's Day fashion show three years ago, and I'm so glad she's finally sharing her bright personality on air as well!

By the way, last Friday's IWD fundraiser FEMFEST was amaaazing! Thanks to everyone that came out!
